This is my work from the homes we've lived in over the years(you'll notice the same furniture, draperies and china) :-) I also have makeovers I'll be posting soon. My degree is in fashion merchandising/retail management, but I developed a love for interior decorating over the years. Needing to be frugal(and I don't say that lightly), I had to be creative and develop an eye to find "great" pieces for cheap prices. Can you say garage sales and flea markets! My motto has always been..."it's a sin to pay full price for ANYTHING"! Can I get an AMEN!

DeleteBeautiful!
ReplyDeleteThank you Trinity!! :-)
DeleteOh. My. Word. Michell! You've been holding out on me this whole time and I see THIS? Stunning!! Okay, let's dive right in. 1. You have so many amazing pieces. Look at your hutch! And the dining room table and chairs {which I'm coveting}, and the ornate mirrors! Make it stop! {But don't really. Everything is perfection!} 2. You need to be linking up to decor parties! People need to see this - LOL! Savvy Southern Style is a good place to start. 3. You really do have an eye for design. From the tablescapes to the pair of ferns adorning your hutch...to the vignette on your drawers. Everywhere I look, I'm inspired. 4. I'm so excited you are sharing this. You really CAN do it all, can't you? I'm WOWWED. Thanks for dazzling us all.
ReplyDeleteXOXOXO,
Meredith
Hahaha, girl you are too funny!! Awwwww...THANK YOU Meredith for your kind words, they made my day!!! You definitely know your stuff girl! I have to tell you about those pieces. Can you believe the hutch was left behind in a farmhouse we bought...IKR!! I LOVE that piece!! So it has gone with me wherever we've moved! The first dining room set was given to me. The chairs were covered in this 1980's powder blue print, so I went to Ross's and bought a large yellow tablecloth on clearance for $4.99 and recovered them. Believe you me, I know how to be frugal when needed(remember my motto), lol! All the little accessories...garage sales for little or nothing! Did you notice the books? LOL! This is my first time actually sharing with the public. My daughter has been trying to get me to show my work for years now, lol! Thanks again for your encouraging words my friend! Love you girl!! ;-)
ReplyDeleteMichell, this is phenomenal work! You need a sister-blog just for interior decorating tips. I mean it! I love your traditional and chic style. When are you going to make this happen? Thanks, for the link-up. Off to visit a couple of the other links!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cynthia!! Haha, oh I wish! The two times a week I blog on this site is tiring me out, lol! Thanks so much for your kind words my friend! Blessings!
DeleteGirl! Beautiful. This is not a gift of mine AT ALL. I let stuff get on my nerves "as is" long before I stumble onto what to replace it with. I don't have the eye for just going out and finding anything. Do you keep the dining room set or is it seasonal?
ReplyDeleteHaha, too funny Kenya! No way girl...ain't nobody got time for that, lol! My mom used to do that. I just decorate it for the holidays! Can you believe, I didn't even decorate this Christmas, ran out of time, lol. I did however manage to put a wreath on the front door and some bows and ribbons on the lamps on the front porch, lol!
DeleteYour home truly match your spirit "Beautiful". Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteBlessings Lisa
