Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #48 and happy birthday mommy

an encouragement link up
Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope your week has been wonderful! Today's "DYWW" is dedicated to my lovely mother Mary Lee Brown Flemming, who would have celebrated her 71st birthday today! I sure do miss that lady!! Here's a post I wrote last year commemorating what would have been her 70th birthday. You can read "A Legacy of Grace" HERE. For those of you who know me, y'all know that I write letters to my mommy all the time, lol!

I'm "doing well" because I can finally celebrate my mother's life without getting sad. I've been blessed with

I really love and appreciate you guys!! :-) And to everyone who's comments I have yet to respond to...please forgive me! I'll be doing so soon and visiting your blogs as well. Happy "Hump Day" y'all!! Hope you all have had a wonderful week so far! I'm giddy because as my husband and I were coming back from dinner(with one of the sweet Believers and her daughter), we actually saw snowflakes...yep, right here in good ole' Columbia, SC! Whooohooo!! Okay, it didn't stick and it might have only lasted for about 10 minutes, then turned into freezing rain...but hey, don't steal my joy, lol!

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #39 and a tribute to a dear friend

an encouragement link up and remembering a friend
Today, October 30th, is a bittersweet day for my family and I. One year ago today my husband lost his best friend and our children lost their god-father, Gary Ward Crawford, after only a three month battle with cancer. He left behind a wife and three beautiful children ages 5, 8 and 16. Cancer is a devastating disease that affects more people now than ever before and I.hate.it.with.a.passion!! Today is bitter because this day a year ago the world lost

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #36 and a state championship

Happy Hump Day y’all!! Hope everyone is doing well…I am! This week, Monday to be exact, I started my new series…”Mastering YOU Monday”.  I hope you’ll join me each Monday! If you missed it, you can read that post right ----> HERE

On another note, our youngest son Blake and his high school track team are doing themselves well! Why you ask…because they are the 2013 AAAA State Championships in track and field in SC! Whoop whoop! They actually won back in May, but they just got their rings last week. So as a proud momma, you know I had

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #35 and a new series

Is it just me or are you all glad it's October too?! Whoopwhoop! What a bad hostess I was last week though, wouldn’t you say…throwing a party and not even showing up to it. I mean really now, who does that! I sure hope you all will forgive me…I.promise.to.do.better! :-)  I’ll be visiting each and every one of you who commented last week, to return some love your way!

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #32 and a new blog design!

Okay, I know some of you are taking a double look at this post…nope it’s not déjà vu!  To all my readers out there, it’s just that my good blogging friend Joi over at “The Rx Fitness Lady” is hosting her  “7 Day Mini Blog Challenge Party” all this week and today’s challenge is either a “Monday Blog Commercial“ or “Confessions of a Blogger”.  Since I.don’t.do.confessions.to.anyone.but.Jesus(bahaha), then I’ll do a

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday#30 and some congratulations!

an encouragement link up and congratulations
Okay, I must first start off by apologizing...why, because I haven’t even responded to ALL of last week’s “DYWW” commenters…IKR! I’m sure some of you are saying to yourselves…WTW,  is she really having another linky-party and hasn’t even finished last week's! Give me some slack will ya? Lol! It’s been a long week y'all, but I promise, I’ll be sure to respond to each and every person who commented on my blog by this week’s end…I promise! :-) Joi's post on Monday was right on time concerning this very matter. So, this week I guess I’m “doing myself well” by at least keeping on schedule with this post…sigh! But hey, even though I’m not doing so great with that this week, I’m pleased to announce that someone in the Pulliam household is “doing himself well”! Who, you ask? My hubby…who received his Doctorate in Theology last weekend!!

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #28 and the last week of summer break...

an encouragement link up and the end of summer break
Hi everyone! Hope your week has been fantabulous so far! I don't know about you, but I'm savoring every bit of this LAST full week of summer break...IKR! Ughhhh...can you believe it...gone, just like that! Thank God our son will be a senior this year, so...NO more outrageous school supply lists that consist of hand wipes, boxes of napkins and enough supplies to fill an underground bunker. It's been a few years since I've actually bought hand wipes and boxes of napkins for school - he is a senior - but you get the picture. No buying new book bags or calculators, yippee! But instead, we'll be filling out college

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #26 and a tribute to my mommy...

an encouragement link up and a tribute to my mother
Hi everyone! Hope you all are enjoying your week so far. Today is a bittersweet day for me. Sweet, because it was six years ago today, July 31st,  that my mother’s doctors sent her to the ER to FINALLY get a diagnosis for what was making her -this once vibrant lady, who loved doing the jitterbug with my dad- weaker and weaker as the days went by. No one knew what was zapping her energy and strength (not her family or her doctors). Bitter, because two days later on August 2nd, six months shy of her 65th birthday and 45th wedding anniversary, we would lose her on the operating table during

Hi y’all…Happy Hump Day! Welcome to another “Doing YOU WELL Wednesday”! Hope you had a great weekend and a great week thus far! The Pulliam household is still doing GREAT and we’re still on our “supernatural” high!  This week I want to wish our daughter and son-in-law a “Happy One Year Wedding Anniversary”. They’ll be celebrating,

So glad to be back…missed you guys!!! Can't believe I didn't blog, didn't check my emails AND stayed off social media for two whole weeks! Time sure flew by. As some of you may know, I took a MUCH NEEDED break from the internet. There’s so much to catch up on and so many blogs I have to visit!  While I was gone, I wasn’t just sitting around with my feet propped up eating bonbons, you know…I was busy! So, on this “Doing YOU WELL Wednesday” link-up, I’d like to share with you what I’ve been up to over the past two weeks.

Some of you might have read my post about my Aunt Kitty(Sarah Mae Flemming) entitled, “A Silent Strength”. If you haven’t, you should…it’s a GREAT history lesson! Well, I’m so proud to say that on Friday, June 28th, on what would have been her 80th birthday, she was honored by the city of Columbia, SC, with a street naming ceremony! Now, the corner of Main and Washington Streets in downtown Columbia, is officially named “Sarah Mae Flemming Way”. Whoopwhoop! God is so good! It was a very moving ceremony and we were

Hey Y’ALL!! Welcome to another week of “Doing YOU WELL Wednesday”!  Hope you all are doing fabulous!  I’m doing something a little new here on my blog today! This came at a great time though, as I wasn’t able to unveil my new blog design yesterday…insert sad face and booos here--->(technical difficulties…ahem, right Mr. Producer, lol). Well, yesterday, June 18th, yours truly…“Prowess and Pearls”, celebrated it’s ONE YEAR BLOGAVERSARY!!!

Hi everyone! Welcome again to another edition of the “DYWW” link-up. A place where you can drop by every week to catch up on what everyone’s been doing, where we celebrate and encourage you AND you get to meet some new blogging friends! You can’t beat that, huh? :-)

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! I did and was so excited because I actually got a chance to meet one of my blogger friends face-to-face! Yayy!! I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Michelle(eh em, lovely name don’t cha think), who blogs over at "Divas With a Purpose". She was an awesome hostess, who made everyone feel welcomed. She held her “Celebration of Friendship”  seminar at the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. It was quite lovely might I add, and  I also got a chance to meet up with some lovely ladies/vendors.

Doing YOU WELL Wednesday #19 and my birthday!

Hey everyone! Hope you all had a safe and fun Memorial Day! Guess who celebrated her 45th birthday yesterday? Yep, you guessed it…ME! That’s my “doing you well” for the week! Thanking the Lord for letting me see another year!! Now it wouldn’t be a birthday without a birthday picture right? Lol!
