"Doing YOU WELL Wednesday" Link-up #2

an encouragement link up promoting community
Hi ladies! Welcome to our 2nd "Doing YOU WELL Wednesday" link-up! Our first link-up last week was a success with 25 participants! For all of you who are new to the partaaay...all you do is share with us what you're DOING WELL this week! *you don’t have to be a blogger to participate*  It can be anything…from making a career change,  to stepping up your walk with Christ, trying something new, changing your eating habits, asserting yourself…ANYTHING; no matter how big or small, as long as it’s
leading you towards…DOING YOU WELL! We as women have gone most of our lives doing others well, but when it comes to doing ourselves well…we must admit, we have fallen short. The enemy wants us to focus on all the things we just can't seem to get right in our lives...that when it's time to celebrate all the things we are doing right...he makes us feel unworthy, so we find it hard to celebrate ourselves! Who knows, you may have something that will inspire one of the other readers…and besides, we can all use some encouragement!!  As you can probably tell by now, this isn’t your normal linky-party. My goal is to create a community where we actually get to know one another and each other's blogs by connecting here on this link-up...where you’re not just a linked up post(if you get my drift). For all my sisters who don't have blogs, please leave your comment, so we can get to know you too! If you have a website or fan page, you can link those up as well. If you don’t have anything to share, you can still link up(I highly recommend you say something though, so we can get to know you, that's the point, right).;-)  You may still want to view some of the comments posted, as I'm sure they will inspire you! Each week I'll feature one of our fabulous participants! Our featured blogger this week is the lovely Stacey, who blogs over at She Stands and Shakin' the Foundation...go over and show her some lovin'! Here are the rules:

  • Follow the host(that would be me) and the featured blogger via GFC(Google Friends Connect) and if you’d like, you can follow via Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest or email. Make sure to leave in your comment that you're following, so the favor can be returned.
  • Leave your comment on what you’re doing well this week. If you’re a blogger, link up your post so others can visit and follow you. Go visit other blogs and comment/follow. Try to visit as many as you can each week. Remember, we're creating a community here.
  • Please play fair(as I’ve seen so many bloggers in link-ups NOT do). If someone comments on/follows your blog…PLEASE return the favor! Remember, we're creating a community. Don't forget to let them know you're dropping by from the "Doing YOU WELL" link-up.
  • As I’ve stated, my goal is to create a community *I'm not trying to be redundant* where we come together to make new friends, connect with one another AND support each other's blogs, that's one of the reasons why we blog, right? If your goal is to get followers for the sake of just getting followers…then, you may want to keep it movin’...ahem, I meant..this may not be the link-up party for you. :-)
  • What are you waiting for ladies…get to linking!
  • Most of all...have fun, meet new friends and gain new followers, and while you're at it invite others to come...the more, the merrier!
  • You can grab my "Doing YOU WELL"button if you'd like. It's right there on the side(keep scrolling down, you'll see it). Paste it either in your post, on your sidebar, or wherever you put your buttons!

  1. This week I'm trying to keep things simple, and not get too wound up by my to-do list.

My focus is on "being still" and enjoying each day as it comes! xo

  10. Hey you all...I'm trying not to "take it personally" when dealing with my customers. I work an 9-5 type job collecting money from our late paying customers and sometimes it's very challenging. Some people have no filter with the words that come out of their mouth, and when that happens it's hard to not to take it personally. I get my feelings hurt...(Clearly I'm not a tough as nails collector like collectors have a bad reputation for) and today, as much as I hate to admit this, a lady made me cry. I'm laughing about it now because it's so silly. I hope you all have a good week. - Cindy @http://ydniceal.blogspot.com/

    1. Hi Cindy! Sorry to hear that, but kudos to you for not letting it get the best of you. You're correct not to take it "personally". People are just frustrated and you just happen to be the first person they come across. Good for you for "doing YOU WELL"! Thanks for linking up...have a blessed week my friend! ;-)

  11. Hey Michell! Thanks for stopping by my blog AND for hosting this fun and encouraging link up! I linked up my Fresh-pressed Cucumber Citrus Cooler- an awesome recipe I whipped up on my journey to better health through fresh juicing. It's a constant battle (What I really want is a cheeseburger), but your body totally thanks you with most energy and healthy skin. Loving those benefits!

    1. Hi Kayli! Thanks so much for linking up! You are definitely dong YOU WELL! 2013 really prompted me to re-evaluate my eating habits. I applaud you on sticking to the plan cause' cheeseburgers are so tempting...lol! Yes, the benefits are so worth it! ;-) Have a blessed week!

  12. What a fabulous idea! Sometimes it's a bit hard not to get down on yourself and see all things you can't do or maybe don't do well, so this is really empowering. Being challenged to focus on what we do well is just brilliant, and it fits in so well with my goals for 2013. Also, I've participated in link-ups where there are 200+ people and I might get a couple of visitors and 1 comment, which is so disheartening because I always try to visit as many people as possible. I like new followers, but I'd rather have visitors who read, comment, and potentially become friends. Your emphasis on community is exactly why I will be participating next week. :-)

    New follower!

    1. I know exactly what you mean Marie! The main reason I wanted to start a community is because many of the blog hops are just that "blog hops". Followers are great, but if no one is actually reading and commenting on your blog, then what's the purpose? Thank you so much for dropping by and following...headed over to your blog now! Excited about you joining in next week! Have a blessed rest of your day! ;-)

  13. This week I would have to that I'm handling juggling my new responsibilities with my recent promotion at work (yay!!!) and still managing the functions of my old position well :) There have been some stressful moments and longer working days but overall things have been pretty smooth. In my personal endeavors, between my blog, community and church responsibilities some awesome doors have been opened and it's just adjusting and determining where I'm being led to serve the best.

Love this link up and I look forward to getting to know you and the other bloggers better!

Many blessings to you and yours!

  14. I really am like this. This week I am trying to have more consistent time for exercising. Which is really hard to do three-year-old and a newborn. Most important, finding more time to write.

    1. Hi Kalley(cute name)! Congrats on your newborn! Oh yes, I remember those days! Children will definitely force you to prioritize, organize AND juggle all at the same time, lol! Our kids are 23, 21 and 17...I look back and wonder how I did it all, and realize that I actually did(with God's help)...and we all survived. ;-)) It takes a little planning and readjusting, but you'll get it done AND still have time for you! Kudos to you for "Doing YOU WELL"! Have a blessed evening!

  15. I am so glad that I stumbled across this link up! I haven't found one where you can really get to know the people that link up, most are just for gaining followers, which isn't my focus..
This week I am trying to up my fitness and diet game, out with the bad and in with the good! I'm staying strong so far! :)

    1. I totally agree Brandi! What's the purpose of having a blog if there's no interaction? I think community is so important, especially where women are concerned. As far as fitness...you're better than I am, lol! Hopefully you can keep me encouraged! I'll be 45 this year and I'm really focusing more on my health. The only liquid I drink now is water; so I'm with you on the "out with the bad and in with the good"! Good for you! Thanks for linking up! Have a blessed evening!

  16. Hi Michell!
I love finding a sister in Christ, as well as someone willing to use her blog for empowerment and lifting up others. {See my most recent post "Do You Feel Pretty?"} This week, I've stuck with my calorie counting and working out 20 minutes each day. With a 1 and 3 year old, that's a big effort for me! As a SAHM, I'm with them for very long hours, so I have to incorporate my workouts during my time with them. Thus, I moved my treadmill from the garage to our bedroom. This way, the kids can play while I walk. Sometimes, they workout too. :) Glad I found you, as it's sometimes difficult to weed out the people who simply want to add followers from those who'd really like to connect.

    Blessings from Oklahoma,
    Meredith

    1. Hi Meredith! Thanks so much for joining in! I'll definitely head over to check that post out! Yes, sometimes motherhood forces us to be innovative with normal everyday tasks. I love being forced to think outside of the box...I mean really, how boring would life be if we didn't, lol! Sounds like you're definitely doing YOU WELL...love it and yay for you!! So glad you found me also and I agree, I think the blogging world should be another outlet for women to find meaningful friendships. I must say, I've been blessed to have found quite a few! Thanks again for dropping by...have a blessed weekend!
