What matters most?
In light of the tragic events that took place in Newtown,
CT; my post today is dedicated to those things that really matter. I am by no
means a poet, but the Holy Spirit assisted me as I penned this poem from my
heart. May we all keep these families in our prayers, as when the news media leaves and when the rest of the world carries on with life as usual, they will be left to grieve over a future with their loved ones that will never happen here on earth. As you read this poem, may it encourage you to take a step towards...you doing YOU WELL!

Am I the only one who’s willing to
admit that I can be very impatient at times? I’m not sure if it’s a female
thing or not *I’m sure it is though*, but you know…we want it when we want it,
AND it had better be done right. Go figure! Sometimes our rushing the
process so we can get to the next thing can be our downfall.(<---tweet this)
Free yourself!
Well, I did it! I did something yesterday that freed me.
What is it? I called my dad and wished him a “Happy Anniversary”. This may seem
ordinary to you, but to me, it was a very BIG deal. You see, my parents were
married for almost 45 years before my mom passed away suddenly on August 2,
2007. My dad remarried exactly 4
months to the date - December 2, 2007 - at the very same altar where my mom’s casket had once sat…IKR! :-)
This was a lot for my sisters and I to digest, as all of our lives all we had
known was mom and dad…together. We were told by others that we all wore the
same clothes to my dad’s wedding that day, we had worn to my mother’s funeral…we
hadn’t planned this, I promise…SERIOUSLY, LOL! :-) I guess we
did it subconsciously. Anyway, it took
me five years to come to the realization that,
