I’m sure by now all of your little and big ones have gone
off to school. As I mentioned last week, our youngest is headed off today to
start his senior year of high school. It seems like it was just yesterday we
sent him off to Kindergarten. He was so adorable and shy. All the little girls
volunteered to help him. Whenever we stopped by to visit, he always had at least
two girls on each hand…too funny! Next year this time he’ll be going off to
college. So, I’m “doing myself well” today by not crying and letting go of the
last little bird in the nest!

1st year of school...I told you he was adorable! |

Last year of school |
So tell me, how have/are you “doing yourself well”? Let us
know by leaving a comment below. This is a “no rules” linky-party. Just
somewhere we all gather each week to check on each other and give some encouragement, support and lovin’
to one another! Even though this is a “no rules” party, it would be nice if you’d
followed the hostess…that would be ME! I’m a very gracious hostess, I always follow
back! You know what to do…link up your post(s) *any you'd like*, visit some blogs in the link-up and show
them some love! Don’t forget to let them know you’re visiting from the “DYWW” linky-party!
Don’t forget to come back Friday for “Michell’s Weekly Pearl”.
If you missed last week’s question, you can view it HERE. Until next week…BE
BLESSED!
I am taking my son to college tomorrow. It is a very emotional time. Senior year flies by, take time to enjoy your last year with you son.
ReplyDeleteThanks for hosting. I know it takes lots of work and I just want you to know I appreciate the time you put in.
Aww...hope he got settled in okay and has gotten the hang of things. Praying for a successful year for him! You're so welcome Betty...it does, but it's so worth it, to get a chance to chat with all of you each week!! :-) Thanks for linking up...have a wonderful week! ;-)
DeleteOur two youngest - 7th and 9th - we moved them to a classical school - where they're reading (Gilgamesh and Narnia), (Pride and Prejudice and Hamlet) - and bible every day. They're both in the same beginning Latin class - and math is being taught through process - not state test answers - and I have so much peace. I wish we'd had this available for my other boys:) Congratulations on your Senior - you have a handsome young man there!
ReplyDeleteWow...that sounds awesome! So glad there are more alternatives for parents to choose from than the traditional school setting. A parent's peace of mind is so important. Thank you so much, I'll let him know. ;) Thanks for linking up...have a wonderful week!
DeleteHi Michell,

DeleteAw, Michell I can only imagine how you feel. Our daughter is just two, and I constantly have thoughts about when she is older and leaves our home. It already seems as though they grow so fast. Your son turned out to be a handsome young man. I am happy to hear that you are doing well. I hope you get to spend a lot of time with him this year before he is off to college.
ReplyDeleteThank you for hosting such a lovely link up.

DeleteHe was so adorable...and grew into such a handsome young man. This week has been all kinds of hectic with getting the kids back to school and situated. I'm not sure how I'm doing me well this Wednesday... I'm stressed.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hope! ;-) I can only imagine...getting them ready for school is more hectic for US, the parents, than it is for our kids! Okay Doc...relax, relate, release! LOL! Have a wonderful week my friend!
DeleteHi Michell! So nice to meet you today, and to see your blog and link party! I wrote down your blog address, maybe I can link up some time too.

DeleteMy daughter started her senior year ten days ago. Pretty interesting and feelings that have gone with it. Of course her school (it is public)is trying to wring every last dollar out of the parents-lol.
ReplyDeleteBless You and all the adults to be.
Haha, yes...IKR! Congrats to your daughter. Blessings to you and your family as well and thanks for linking up!
DeleteAwwww, congrats to your not-so-little one on this attainment. Letting go is never easy, and as a mother, whose daughter is about to start her junior year this September as a boarder in the secondary school, I can totally relate. This is the first of my 4 that is about to fly the nest, and I am both looking forward to, and dreading that time, which is fast approaching.
ReplyDeleteThis is one of the difficult parts of parenting, but it is a much necessary phase of growth. I wish your boy all the best as he steps out. May he bring you honor, but above all, may he honor His maker, and not let go of the things you have taught him. Stay blessed :)
Hey there lady! So good hearing from you! Thank you so much Unyime! Yes, I remember when our daughter(the oldest) started college. It was a few weeks after my mom passed away and I had sooo many emotions! Yes, you're correct, it's ALL a part of life! Amen Unyime...that's our prayer, that he honors God! Good hearing from you my friend...have a blessed week! ;-)
DeleteCute pictures. I still have little ones, so I can't imagine! Thanks for hosting!
ReplyDeleteLol, Amber...I used to say that! Cherish the time you have with them! Thanks so much for linking up!
DeleteHey Ms. Michell! What a cutie your son is! I can well see why the girls wanted (and probably still do!) to give him some help! LOL What a blessing to see kids grow up into wonderful young adults.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a wild week, but on the plus side, my sleep has improved greatly. There's nothing like a good night's sleep! Grateful for that, and for consistency in exercising. Trying to embrace all my struggles, girlfriend! LOL!
Hahaha Alison! And he was always so nonchalant about the girls, lol! Thanks so much ma'am, we are so proud of the young man he's become! So glad your sleep has improved my friend! You're not even lying...there's nothing like a good night's sleep! Thanks so much for stopping by girl, have a blessed week! ;-)
