Hi
everyone! Thanks for
joining me for another edition of "Michell's Weekly Pearl", where I seek to use Godly wisdom to offer encouragement.
If this is your first time visiting, let me tell you a little about my series. This is where you can ask me anything on marriage, women's issues, family matters, relationships, parenting, homemaking, or life in general. If you want an honest, biblically based, to the point answer; email me your questions via prowessandpearls@gmail.com (please
put "MWP" in the subject area). I'll post your question, along with my
answer, anonymously. Easy as that! I'll also delete your email once I've transferred your question. To read all the questions and answers in this series, you
can do so (HERE).
Keep sending those questions in!!! In the meantime, read on to see what "Not So Sure Anymore" asked...
Dear moms...
I know I told everyone to come back today for "Michell's Weekly Pearl", but I'll resume with that next Friday. However, it would be remiss of me to go into this weekend without paying tribute to all the wonderful mothers out there...know that you are loved and appreciated! So, I've pulled out an old post I did for Mother's Day back in October...IKR! I've tweaked it a little and it fits perfectly for this weekend! In honor of all mothers and especially my lovely mother, Mary Lee Brown-Flemming, who passed away in 2007; who was, in my eyes, the epitome ofA cry for LOVE...
Hey everyone! Here it is 2:00 am and I’m JUST writing my
post. I’m finally getting back to myself…went on a last minute road trip to
Illinois Friday and Saturday and boy am I beat, but it was so worth it!
Am I
the only one excited about celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior
Jesus the Christ!!

Listen Up Ladies!!
Hi Ladies! With the upcoming holiday known as Valentine’s Day AKA “Lover’s Day”, I decided to peruse an article I read back in
February 2012 from *Women’s Health Magazine *entitled "WHAT MEN THINK OF
VALENTINE'S DAY" and share it with you. As you read an excerpt from this article, keep in mind that it is coming from
a man’s point of view. ;-))
“Most guys have a love/hate relationship with Valentine's Day. Sure, it's a fine opportunity to
A Legacy of Grace...
This week my lovely mother would have celebrated her 70th
birthday. I think it’s ironic that over the past few weeks I have come across so
many people who have told me how special my mother was to their lives. Wow, considering it's been 5 years since she's gone on to be with the Lord!
They don’t know how much that meant to me. I always knew my mother was special! She was what you would call a quiet spirit. For
as long as I’d known her, I never saw
What matters most?
In light of the tragic events that took place in Newtown,
CT; my post today is dedicated to those things that really matter. I am by no
means a poet, but the Holy Spirit assisted me as I penned this poem from my
heart. May we all keep these families in our prayers, as when the news media leaves and when the rest of the world carries on with life as usual, they will be left to grieve over a future with their loved ones that will never happen here on earth. As you read this poem, may it encourage you to take a step towards...you doing YOU WELL! Free yourself!
Well, I did it! I did something yesterday that freed me.
What is it? I called my dad and wished him a “Happy Anniversary”. This may seem
ordinary to you, but to me, it was a very BIG deal. You see, my parents were
married for almost 45 years before my mom passed away suddenly on August 2,
2007. My dad remarried exactly 4
months to the date - December 2, 2007 - at the very same altar where my mom’s casket had once sat…IKR! :-)
This was a lot for my sisters and I to digest, as all of our lives all we had
known was mom and dad…together. We were told by others that we all wore the
same clothes to my dad’s wedding that day, we had worn to my mother’s funeral…we
hadn’t planned this, I promise…SERIOUSLY, LOL! :-) I guess we
did it subconsciously. Anyway, it took
me five years to come to the realization that,
The essence of friendship...
My blog post is a little different this week. In
memory of my husband’s best friend and our children’s god-father (who passed
away last week), I wrote this letter to him as a tribute to his friendship and
wanted to share it. I’m sure if any of you have ever lost someone you loved,
you can relate. Love you all and have a blessed week! Our Daughter's Day
WOW! You can say I’m coming down from what some may call a “wedding
high”! So amazed at the goodness of the Lord! He literally stopped the
rain so that our daughter could have the outside wedding she dreamed of;
even though the weatherman predicted there would be a 50% chance of
rain (He’s faithful like that, you know)! ;-) He taught me so much
about His love for us; in how He maneuvered the clouds so that we could
have the perfect overcast from the sun for the 7:00pm ceremony on the terrace of the EdVenture Children's Museum, to how
He stopped
